Eyelid rejuvenation

Reduce the excess skin of the eyelid with our surgical and non-surgical options

About Eyelid Rejuvenation

As we mature, structural changes in the bone, fat and skin can lead to an excess of eyelid skin. At SkinBox, we have a number of options that reduce this unwanted skin to reveal a natural-looking, more youthful eye area. A blepharoplasty under local anaesthetic can quickly and simply remove the skin of the upper lid surgically; whilst a “Madonna Lift” uses CO2 laser as a non-invasive treatment for tightening the lower eyelid skin without surgery.

Ageing is a natural process

The natural process of ageing causes gradual structural changes in the bony skull, with shifts in the fat pads of the face, and loss of elasticity of the skin. For many of us, these slow changes lead to an excess of loose skin around the eye area.

When excess skin from above presses down on the upper eyelid, it can lead to a sensation of tiredness and can even impact upon our vision.

What are the options for eyelid rejuvenation?

At SkinBox we offer a number of different options to help address the signs of ageing around the eyes. Each patient is individual, and we frequently use a combination of these techniques to help achieve your desired result.

Muscle balance

It is often possible to subtly lift the resting position of the eyebrows by medically altering the dynamics of the muscles acting on the brows. This is a quick, non-invasive way of achieving a temporary brow lift with no downtime.

Volume reshaping

It is possible to augment the volume at the temple, forehead & bony ridge of the eye socket, to return support to the eyebrow and eyelid skin where it may have been lost with time. This leads to a natural-looking youthfulness with unaltered facial expressions.

Upper lid blepharoplasty

In many case, this is a minor surgical procedure and can be performed under local anaesthetic in our on-site procedural rooms. Small sutures are left in place for 7-10 days and you should expect some swelling and possible bruising after the procedure. LED light is used in the post-operative week to assist with healing. Depending upon your age, the results of an upper lid blepharoplasty tend to last 5-15 years. As with all medical procedures, there are some risks involved and not all patients will be suitable for this treatment.

Laser resurfacing

Using a fractional resurfacing CO2/Erbium laser, we can shrink and tighten the thin skin around the eyes. This is particularly effective for lower eyelid skin. Results are long lasting but can require up to 2weeks of social downtime. This laser procedure is frequently combined with Emcyte® Pure cell extraction, exosomes or polynucleotides to speed up the healing process and increase collagen production within the treated skin.

Rejuran® polynucleotides

These marine-derived DNA fragments act as building blocks to enable your skin to regenerate and restructure. They are particularly effective at improving the appearance of crepy skin in the undereye area.

We understand that the world of aesthetics and cosmetic treatments can be intimidating, that’s why our cosmetic doctors and qualified dermal therapists are here.
