What’s different about Bio-Remodelling?
An injectable skin treatment which produces a refreshed, plumped yet natural and ‘not done’ look, this product is not used to change the shape of your face, but is an excellent choice if you want to rewind the clock or slow down the natural ageing process.
Relatively new to Australia, this injectable treatment has been available in Europe and New Zealand for a number of years. Made of a highly stabilised pure carbohydrate substance that is naturally present in the skin, it’s unique manufacturing process leads to a product with the consistence of honey. This spreads within the skin to intensely hydrate as well as switching on and stimulating the fibroblast cells in the dermis to produce more of your own natural collagen and hyaluronic acid.

What is the Bio-Remodelling product made of?
A purified and highly-stabilised carbohydrate that is one of the main components of the skin. Using patented NAHYCO® technology, thermal bonds are formed within the product to create a long-lasting, highly concentrated liquid with the consistency of honey.
How does Bio-Remodelling work?
Despite being far more concentrated than the medical gel products used for creating/replacing volume in the face, the unique manufacturing process leads to a far less viscous gel. Injected into 5 specific points on each side of the face, known as the BAP (bio aesthetic points), the product then spreads under the surface of the skin where it immediately hydrates deep within the skin, due to its hydrophilic (water-loving) properties. The product spreads in a 2cm radius within the skin from each injection point. Providing intense hydration, it also has a stimulatory effect on fibroblasts within the skin, increasing your own collagen and hyaluronic acid production.
How many treatments will I need?
An initial treatment course is 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by a maintenance session every 6-12 months. For very dehydrated or photo damaged skin we may recommend up to 4 sessions initially.
When will I see results?
Patients often report that they can ‘feel’ the difference in their skin before we can visually capture it on photography. You should expect an increase in firmness and hydration, with a decrease in fine lines and crepiness. Since the bio-remodelling product stimulates fibroblasts, results continue to improve over time as your natural generation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid increases
How is Bio-Remodelling different to “skin-boosters”?
Other products on the market that are designed to be injected directly into the skin have a different bonding technology and do not stimulate your own cells in the same way. Therefore they just hold moisture but do not change the skin function.
Can I have Bio-Remodelling at the same time as another treatment?
Yes you can! In fact, many patients choose to have a maintenance treatment at the same visit as their regular wrinkle-relaxer or Hydrafacial® for convenience. Please ask our team which treatments you would like to combine so that we can individualise your plan.
Will it change the shape of my face?
No, this is not a traditional gel product and will not provide volume or structure to the deeper layers of the face. It also won’t affect the muscle movement, making this an ideal treatment if you want to keep as natural a look as possible.
Is there any downtime?
Each treatment session involves only 5 small injection points to each side of the face or neck. It is possible to have small visible lumps similar to a mosquito bite for up to 24hours afterwards, although often these settle within a few hours. A small amount of bruising is possible.
