Gender-affirming Aesthetic Care

Explore your non-surgical aesthetic options to support gender expression or gender affirmation.

Our appearance plays a role in how we experience ourselves and how we move through the world. For some people, certain facial or body features may feel misaligned with their gender identity.

At SkinBox Clinics, we offer inclusive, respectful and medically led consultations for adults exploring non-surgical ways to support facial features, hair patterns or scars in a way that feels more affirming and authentic to them.

We are a safe, judgement-free space. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start the conversation.

What This Service Is

This is a consultation-based medical service for adults aged 18+ who are considering non-surgical aesthetic options to support gender expression or gender affirmation.

During your consultation, a doctor will take time to understand:

  • how you experience your appearance
  • what features feel important to you
  • what changes you are considering, not what you “should” want

From there, we may discuss whether certain medical or energy-based treatments could be appropriate as part of a personalised plan.

We do not promote or advertise specific prescription medicines or injectable products. Any medical decisions are made with you, not for you, during a private consultation.

Understanding Facial Structure (In Simple Terms)

While every face is unique, there are some general structural patterns that people often associate with traditionally masculine or feminine facial characteristics. These are descriptive, not prescriptive, and not everyone identifies with or wants these exact traits.

Commonly associated “masculine” features may include:

  • broad or more angular jawlines
  • flatter cheeks
  • stronger chin projection
  • heavier brow appearance

Commonly associated “soft masculine” features may include:

  • smoothly contoured temples and lateral cheeks
  • contoured cheekbones and angular jawline
  • softly projected (rounded) chin

Commonly associated “feminine” features may include:

  • softer jaw contours
  • fuller cheeks
  • smoother transitions between facial areas
  • more delicate lower-face proportions

Gender-defining aesthetic care is about subtle shifts in balance and contour, not about changing who you are.

How We May Support You

Depending on your goals, your doctor may discuss a combination of approaches, including:

Facial Contour Support

In consultation, doctors may explore whether certain injectable medical procedures could help support facial balance or contour in a way that aligns with your gender expression. This may include discussion around softening or strengthening specific areas of the face.

Because the effects of injectable treatments are generally temporary, this approach can suit people who are still exploring what feels right for them, without committing to permanent change.

(We do not advertise prescription medicines or product names; these are discussed only during consultation.)

Hair Pattern Support

For some people, hair growth patterns play a significant role in gender expression.
We offer medical-grade laser hair reduction for areas such as:

  • face and neck
  • chest
  • abdomen
  • other areas discussed during consultation

Suitability depends on skin tone, hair characteristics and individual goals, all of which are assessed carefully.

Scar & Skin Quality Support

For individuals who have had previous surgery (such as chest surgery), we may discuss energy-based skin treatments that can support scar texture and overall skin quality as part of a longer-term plan.

These treatments aim to support skin remodelling and blend the appearance of scars, rather than erase or “correct” scars.

What to Expect at Your Consultation

  • A respectful conversation — no assumptions, no pressure
  • Clinical assessment of facial structure, skin and anatomy
  • Clear explanations of options, limitations and safety considerations
  • A personalised plan, which may include doing nothing — and that’s okay

Your comfort, consent and autonomy come first.
