As we age, collagen production naturally slows, contributing to fine lines, softer skin texture and a loss of firmness. Alma ClearLift uses laser energy to gently heat the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface intact, prompting the skin’s own repair and collagen-building processes without the downtime associated with ablative laser resurfacing.

What is a ClearLift Treatment?
This is a medical laser treatment service for adults who want to support their skin’s firmness, texture and overall quality using the ClearLift handpiece of our Alma Harmony platform. Unlike our IPL and pigmentation treatments, ClearLift is set to target collagen stimulation rather than pigment. It is a skin-quality and rejuvenation treatment, not a pigmentation treatment.
Collagen remodelling is a gradual biological process, which means that results build progressively over the weeks following treatment. A course of sessions is usually needed, rather than a single visit. Your clinician will explain what’s realistic for your skin before you begin.
People book a consultation for ClearLift when they’d like support with:
✔ fine lines and early signs of ageing ✔ softer skin texture and reduced tone or firmness ✔ overall skin quality and a fresher-looking complexion ✔ skin that could benefit from a collagen-focused treatment without surface downtime ✔ areas too delicate for more aggressive resurfacing, such as around the eyes
At your consultation, our Dermal Therapist will assess your skin, discuss your goals and medical history, and confirm whether ClearLift, either on its own or as part of a broader skin plan, is an appropriate option.
How Alma® ClearLift Works
ClearLift uses the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser component of the Alma Harmony platform, set at wavelengths and energy levels intended to work beneath the outer layer of skin. This is known as a non-ablative approach: the skin’s surface stays intact, which is why downtime is typically minimal compared with treatments that remove the outer skin layer.
The laser energy is delivered in a fractional pattern, meaning only a portion of the skin is treated in each pass, leaving surrounding untreated skin to support recovery. This triggers a controlled healing response in the deeper skin layers, leading to the gradual production of new collagen over the following weeks.
Treatment settings are adjusted by your clinician according to your skin type and goals. A session typically takes around 20–30 minutes. Most patients tolerate this treatment without anaesthetic, though this can be discussed at consultation if you have concerns about comfort.
How the process works
- Consultation: A discussion with your clinician about your skin concerns, medical history, current skincare regime and your goals for your skin.
- Assessment: Examination of your skin to confirm suitability and expected settings.
- Plan: Your clinician will outline a realistic treatment plan, including likely number and spacing of sessions.
- Treatment & aftercare: Treatment delivered in-clinic, followed by aftercare and sun protection advice.
Steps 1-3 above happen at the initial consultation, with treatment generally organised for a subsequent occasion.
Who This Is For:
Adults looking for a collagen-focused laser treatment with minimal downtime, who understand that results build gradually and that a course of sessions is usually required. Suitability depends on skin condition & skin type, medical history and current medications, which is confirmed at consultation, not before.

FAQs about Alma® ClearLift:
What is Alma® ClearLift?
Alma® ClearLift is a non-ablative, fractional laser treatment delivered using the ClearLift handpiece of our Alma Harmony platform. At SkinBox, we use it with settings intended to support collagen production and overall skin quality, rather than to target pigmentation.
How is this different from your IPL and pigmentation treatments?
The same Alma Harmony platform can be configured for different purposes. Our IPL and pigmentation treatments use settings intended to target visible blood vessels and pigment. ClearLift uses different settings intended to support collagen stimulation and skin texture. Your clinician can advise which is more appropriate for your concern, or whether a combination may be considered over time.
How many sessions will I need?
Most treatment plans involve a course of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced several weeks apart, although this depends on your skin’s condition and how it responds. Your clinician will outline an expected plan at consultation, noting that individual response varies, and this plan may be adapted as you progress.
Does treatment hurt?
Most patients describe a warm or mild stinging sensation during treatment, which is generally well tolerated without anaesthetic. If you’re concerned about comfort, this can be discussed at your consultation.
What can I expect afterwards?
Downtime is typically minimal. You may notice temporary redness or warmth, similar to mild sun exposure, for a few hours to a couple of days. Most patients return to normal activities the same day, though we recommend gentle skincare and diligent mineral sun protection (SPF 30+) while your skin recovers.
When will I see results?
New collagen takes time to form, so visible improvement builds gradually over the weeks following each session, and continues to develop across a course of treatment. We don’t promise a specific outcome – your clinician will discuss what’s realistic for your skin at consultation. You should not expect a dramatic make-over type of result. Many patients choose this treatment as a proactive approach to skin health and aging, rather than to create an instant wow-factor.
Are there any contraindications to ClearLift?
Treatment may not be suitable if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- have an active infection, dermatitis or open wound in the treatment area
- have recent sunburn, tanning or self-tan in the treatment area
- are taking certain photosensitising medications
- have a history of keloid scarring or a condition that affects wound healing
Your clinician will review your full medical history at consultation to confirm suitability.
What are the risks?
As a laser treatment, ClearLift carries potential risks and side effects. These can include temporary redness, swelling or sensitivity, and less commonly, temporary changes in pigmentation (darkening or lightening) in the treated area. Risk varies by skin type and individual healing response, and will be discussed with you before treatment.
How much does ClearLift cost?
Prices start at $320 per session for face only. Please see our price list for more information.
